The Big 10

Its 5:15 and I hear you moving/kicking the side of your crib.. and by 5:30 your talking away but I hear the sounds of frustration creeping in.  I can't blame you since you were sleeping for the night by 5:50 - yikes! I have a habit of not getting you/feeding you a bottle until 6 but today is an exception!  I can't ask you to go more than 12 hours without eating so by 5:40 I am there to rescue you :)

You have been sleeping better lately and we have a good routine but these past days have been harder with teeth (#5 came through today!) and a cold (from your sister who is already over it but yours is lingering..)

Ten {short} 'long' months have come and gone!  You are so different than that tiny newborn I swear you were yesterday.  You grew so much this month.  You are babbling a bunch more (mostly dada) and all you want to do is stand all day!  You like to stand on the window sill and look out at whats happening in the neighborhood (they started to build the house behind us and you like the trucks/dirt).  You like when I hold your hands and you just bounce and stand.  You are exploring the house on your own a lot more too!  You really like plugs and we have had to reallllly start to say no.  You like the air vents and checking out the floor boards.  I think you realized you can crawl to were you want to go but often get tired of belly crawling to and fro then complain lol

You like your sisters toys the best and most always want to join her in building blocks (which she is building "castles" and "kingdoms" that she doesn't want knocked down) so you both are learning to share.  We are determining the best time for sharing the blocks vs letting her build and you play separate.  You like her doctor toys too.  You also are beginning to like the table to stand next to and you love any type of ball we have!  You will spot it across the room and go get it quickly and then proceed to follow it throughout the house as you try and grab it.  You dislike very much to be in any type of "bouncer" and just want to explore.

You are a very good eater!  You are eating just straight finger foods.  Trying to get you to eat a variety but so far we can't do any dairy / you slightly broke out with peanut butter and you threw up eggs. SO we will have to see what happens but I want to think you'll grow out of it.  Going to have to follow up with the Dr soon to see what we need to do.  You have four bottles a day 6, 11, 3, 6 and still go down between 6-6:30 at night.  Naps are 9 & 1 mostly and still trying to figure out the best amount of time so you'll actually sleep longer at night :)

This month you got a bump on your chin & ate a bandaid that was on it (a small one).  You were fine and it came right out the next day!  You took a spill down some stairs too ;( that was scary and so not fun!  Thank God you are fine and nothing was wrong (a small red spot on  your cheek that didn't even bruise). Praise God that you didn't get more hurt and I am thankful for Gods & friends comfort during that time!

Here are some pictures this month! I swear you have gained a pound of two and are taller than 9 months.  I may try and measure you myself to see :)

A day in the park with Nana & Papa

Stealing toys already Abigail...

Girl likes food.

Thursdays have turned into barb & grandma days!! This meant M and I got to do gymboree and now a music class ;) Thankful!

Abby did not love this. hah!

Church together a lot this month.. thankful for the nursery & the online app!

Why so serious?!

Happy Baby <3

So, you rolled over from sitting and bumped your chin. It was bleeding a bit and not stopping after I tried to put pressure on it (which you hated) and then a bandaid worked!  Later you were eating dinner... it was all gone but you were chewing/kinda coughing and we realized you ate the bandaid! YIKES! Not sure how that stayed in your mouth and that you did not immediately spit it out.  Dr said to just keep an eye out for it which we did and saw it a few days later ;) Figured this would be a story I would want to remember when your older.

Water play with some gelatin fish :)

Teepee fun!

Blankets nice and cozy :)

So big ! Loving to stand and not quite cruising yet!

<3 you!

Abby 9 months

Abby Kadabi Gail -- Let me start by saying dear little one this has been both your hardest month and yet joyous. You have had some big changes happening that to you seem scary and painful! You have also had amazing new experiences like swinging, swimming and taking in all these new sights that bring you great joy and lots of smiles.

Weight: 19 pounds 2 oz (50%)

Length:  29.5 inches (95%)

Clothing:  OK, this is bad but I had you in 6 month clothing!!! It was definitely getting tight by your butt (and bulky diapers) so now you are in 9 month and ever 12 month clothing.  Nine month onesies are good and 12 month pants (uuughhh finally everything is not a capri on you).

Diapers:  You are now wearing size 4 but finishing up some size 3's!

Teeth:  YAY! You got your first tooth when we were on Vacation in the dells (8/20/16). It took a while for that little one to come in but its hear PTL.

Sleep:  This immediately made me want to make a sad sad face... I mean no I should be thankful.  You sleep through the night from 6-5 and while you don't go back to sleep you are content till about 6 in your crib most days.  You still take really good 1-2 hour naps a day and aren't ever up at night (not even a sound!). This honestly has been hard because I just am tired... but it has also given me great discipline to get up with you, be in the word with my coffee in hand and have that time before your sister is up around 6:30/7. It is a season of growth for me and well probably for you too!

Favorite Activity: You like to sit up and play with toys, you like to get your sister up in the morning and play in her crib, you enjoy going outside and having a change of scenery.. You like the stroller and the swing!

Favorite Toy: You like to sit and play with toys.... your sisters older toys are better now than yours ;) You like toys that make noise and toys that are good to chew on (pots and pans, straws, spoons).

Favorite thing to chew: Straws. Spoons.  Anything but a toy.

Food:  You are eating great!  This month you had a week or so when you just did not want to eat much but I had been through that with M before and figured it was your teeth.  However, now you are doing amazing!  You LOVE to eat chunks of food (particularly bread) and are doing a lot better about "chewing" or mashing it in your gums.  Your favorite is bread, butternut squash, strawberries, banana, zucchini, and then the pouches with random fruits!  You aren't too picky... mangos this month made you sick twice so we now stay away from those!

Your schedule is --

6 - I get you you and feed you a 7oz bottle
7:30 Breakfast
8:30ish -- nap
10:30 Bottle 7oz
11:30 Lunch
12:45 Nap (you have been doing a long one here which is nice!)
3:00 Bottle
4:30 Dinner
5:45 head up and sleeping by 6:15 (for the most part unless your afternoon nap goes past 3).

Sitting up yay!!!

Bath is a lot easier now :)

You really enjoy going in to get Mackenzie.  You light up when she is around!

Frist Grocery trip in the car :)

Matchy matchy

On the way home from church you just pass out its so late for you!

Chicago Botanic Garden Day!
hmmmm you did not really like this..

I won't ever pass up a chance at a sleeping picture of you.

Mackenzie being silly with you!

Your sister encourages this.. which some day will come back to bite her ;) ;)

Lainey comes to visit! You think she is super fun to have around!!

Our trip to the Dells with Grandma & Grandpa Depke!  You did well- slept well, ate ok, didn't mind the car ride till the last 30 minutes.

Lainey Week 2 ~ not wanting to share toys already girls ohhh no!

Your 9 month pictures

Week 3 with Lainey!

This month I took more pictures of you!  Your getting so big and are so much fun!  You really show us when you like something and then not so much.  You are really wanting to clap but not quite there yet -- soon!  We pretend you are waving because you always are moving your arms.  You are officially on the move (not crawling) but army crawling a couple feet here & there.. I am glad it has taken you this long and kinda hope the full on crawling waits a bit longer hah!

Love you Abby <3
