8 months {young}

Abby turned 8 months this past Friday so here is her month in pictures --

7 | 1 - Our first train ride as a family!

You were pretty tired after some busy days!

7 | 3 - Our 4th of July party at Ivanhoe!  You came for a bit in the early afternoon ;)

Your first 4th was a success - as much as it can be when you have NO idea what is going on ;)

Happy 4th of July!

7 | 5 - Our new stroller came! Yay!!!!

7 | 9 - you started to scrunch your nose this month

7 | 12 - at Gymboree for Mackenzie's class!

7 | 14 - At a bbq for daddy's work!

7 | 18 - finally really getting the hand of solids and eating 3x a day around 2-3oz each time!

7 | 26 - You had lots of people watch you when Mommy & Daddy went to the 'Annual Meeting' - you were happy and did great!

7 | 27 - Enjoying the park

7 | 29 - 8 months today!

Lets see --
Food: You are on 3 meals a day.  We are trying baby led weaning (mostly toast, zucchini, apples and random things we are eating). You like purees though just like your sister so we mostly do those.  Trying to not worry knowing full well someday you'll be eating like us!
You went down to 4 bottles this month (7, 7, 7, 8oz)!  You were MAYBE not ready for this but then we switched to two naps at the end of the month (praise God) and this works better with the new 'schedule'.

Sleep: Your up at 6/6:30 with a 7oz bottle, breakfast solids, nap around 8:30-10, bottle at 10:30, lunch solids, nap around 12:30/1, bottle at 3, dinner solids at 4:30ish, bottle at 5:45 for bed at 6-ish.  MOST people think I am crazy when I say you sleep at 6 but then I tell them you do 12 hours and they say "wow"! I am realizing lately I a total sleep cray cray!  I find it totally interesting about baby wake times and know how important sleep is for development so I do try my best to give you good sleep but also be flexible :) You have done well on this new schedule but its literally been about 5 days. Today was weird with church so you took 3 naps!

Clothing:  You are finally in all 9month clothing - this really should have happened way before.  I still need to clean out your drawers since you have 3-6 month shirts and pants left ;) You are still in size 3 diapers but have really been leaking at night (we are waiting for the monthly order of over night diapers to arrive soon!).

Activities: You are beginning to sit up for minutes at a time - again something that JUST happened! Thats hopefully going to continue!!! You enjoy the stroller, swinging outside, playing with toys that light up and make noise.  You like 'playing' with your sister too!

Health: We took you off your 'relfux' meds since you were still spitting up on them but not too bad and I began to think what was the point of them! The chiropractor said reflux in babies isn't really a thing (GERD) but its GORD (a ring that is just not fully developed on the baby yet thus food comes up.
Anyways, your off the meds and I am thankful its not bad.  You still spits up but hmmm don't all babies?! (at least at some point).  Skin is looking good just occasional dry patches.  One on the face this month but its not too irritating to you! You have had an on and off runny nose but it doesn't appear to be a 'cold' and you are acting fairly happy with it. Maybe some teeth??!?! None of those yet either! Oh so you went to the chiropractor and we will get your scans back this week.  I was just curious to see how your alignment was with your development of sitting being a bit behind and not too many attempts to crawl.  You had your first adjustment which was fun to see! You had no clue it was even happening but kept looking behind you to see what was going on :)

Its been another busy month but I think thats going to be a new trend having two kids close together in age! August will be a bit more low key but we do have the Depke family vacation to the dells!! woo hoo! Till next month ;)

Love,  Mom

7 months Abby

So we're a little late with this blog… We been quite busy lately!

Let's see here, Abigail is joyful, smiley, rolling all the time, go with the flow, quiet baby! Although lately she has taken to "screaming" and being a bit more "talkative".

Weight & Length are a guess since no doctor again until 9 months! So most likely around 16.5 pounds and 29inches.

Still wearing 6 month onesies/pants - which really should be 9 months.  I think we are pushing it a bit..
Same with size 3 diapers!  I think we will be in these for a bit longer as there are no leaks or issues.  At night time she's a little bit heavy but thats ok :)

No teeth still - these past few days she has been super cranky/clingy so its either teeth or a late / early wonder week (were in between one right now so maybe its teeth!)

Sleep is still going well.  This past month has been better waking up closer to 6 with 3 good naps (1.5, 1.5 and a shorter one).  So she is getting about 11 at night and 3-4 during the day.

Her favorite things to do are immediately roll onto her belly one put down, jump in the jumper, give big kisses, reach for mommy's glasses, look up at the bright TV when sisters watching her daily Sophia the first and play with anything that crinkles. I can tell she is getting bored with the same toys so she likes going to a different location.

Big change this month has been that she likes food now. Thursday the 24th she hated food and would refuse to open her mouth then it was Friday (literally the next day the 25th) she ate three or 4 ounces… Since then it's been no turning back!! So now our schedule looks something like this..

6:00 Get abby and give medicine / bottle - 6 oz
6:30-7:00 Mackenzie waking up, join her in the crib for a little bit :)
7:30 Breakfast for everyone!
8:00 Abby naps and Mackenzie watched 1 (or 2) shows on disney
8:45-9:30 Mackenzie and mommy play
9:30 ABby is awake and has another bottle - 6 oz
10-12 We get out of the house (library, park, errands, splash pad, do something fun!)
11:30ish lunch for everyone!
11:30/12 Abby naps
1:00 Mackenzie naps and usually abby is up short after with a bottle of 6 oz
1-3 Abby and Mommy play - tummy time, jump... find something to do - we usually get the mail lol
Mackenzie is up and abby goes down shortly after
4:00 Abby is up with a 5 oz bottle and we all play! Walks, go outside in the front yard where there is shade..
5:30 Dinner for everyone!
6:00 Abby heads up for bedtime - still in her zippy and a 7oz bottle
7:00 Mackenzie heads up for bedtime

Your favorite foods are- bananas, mango, butternut squash (specifically with cinnamon), carrots.. We tried peas and you hated it.  You also do not like cereal.

Some things to work on this next month are clapping and sitting up - doctor is not worried and said just keep working on it till 9 months and we will evaluate then!

Here are some photos from the month of June :)
