Mackenzie 20 months & Abby 1 month!

Holy Cow!  A lot has changed in our lives this past month :) With the birth of a baby & closing on our home.... I think we are pretty crazy sometimes!

Some highlights of Mackenzie's month are:
+Can count from 1-10
+loves cars & "rides" (if you lay down she will attempt to get on your back for a ride!)
+asks to pray before dinner & will fold her hands
+found her shadow and now says "Hi shadow!!!!" (she was afraid for a minute but quickly got over it!)
+Loves to play TENT... which we got her a teepee for Christmas she LOVES!
She loves veggie tales still as well as a youtube video she calls "sun" or "bus".
Her favorite food is a pouch hahaha and this month she has learned what chocolate is :)

This month Mackenzie also adjusted to her new baby sister Abigail Hope!  She was born on November 29th at 7:59am weighing 7 pounds 9 oz and 21 inches long.  Same weight and length as Mackenzie :)  mackenzie didn't love coming to the hospital to visit... she was so distracted and I think very confused at why Mike and I were there.  She adjusted to Abby in about 2 days at home.  She does fairly well "ignoring" her most of the day but occasionally goes up to her to wave and say hi.  She will attempt to give her toys from time to time as well.  I can't wait to see Abby grow up and have Mackenzie help her along the way and be her BIG SISTER!!

Mackenzie also adjusted to us moving into our new home.  When Abby was just three weeks old we packed up everything at my parents house and moved into the new house.  Mike with the help of family & friends did most of the work :) Ok, pretty much ALL the work!  I did minimal... I did come and tell people where to put things for about two hours and that was enough for me.  The first three days she would cry going down for her nap.. but after that she was fine!  Going to bed at night she never cried.  We set her room completely up and maybe she remembers this from the old house?  It does look very similar.  She seems to like to have her room to play in, Abbys room (with all her old toys and she does play with these for quite a long time..) and then the loft right outside of her room!

We have set everything where it will go for now and will be slowly finishing over the next.. year? 5 years? 10?  Its nice to know this is where we will be for a while and can take our time making it into something we love.  We can't wait to host family and our friends.  We want this home to be open to whoever and really use it as a blessing from the Lord.

Back to Mackenzie - she loved Christmas!  She really loves snowmen, she knows who santa is, and loves to put candy canes on the tree.  She opened gifts better this year but still lost interest after about 2 gifts.  She just wants to play with what she opened!  So we still have some gifts to open and will do this slowly to add new gifts into the mix.  She is using more words now and combining 2-3.  She has kinda started demanding things.. like HAND (meaning hold my hand NOW!), or WATER (when it falls over).. we are trying to teach her she can't have everything that very second but its a hard concept for a 20 month old.  She is wearing all 2t or 18-24 month clothing.  She is now in size 5 diapers..

---
Now onto our second born Abby.. she has been a super sweet, chill, calm, sleepy baby :)  At her doctor appointment on day 5 of her life she had GAINED weight (so much for losing 5-10%)!  Her cord fell off super quick at 1 week old, she likes baths exempt getting out into the cold (who likes this?!), she eats and is awake for a bit then goes to sleep.
In those first weeks she would sleep anywhere in her swing, bassinet... and sleep for hours!  In these past 2 weeks she needs a bit more help to sleep but does well.  She likes to sleep on her belly.. we watch her closely don't worry!  She is co-sleeping with us at this point.  At almost one month old she is doing a 5 hour sleep stretch at night and ALMOST only waking up 1x per night but often its 2 (around midnight and 3/4am).  She has had some gas/projectile spit up issues.  Most of the time it is me over feeding her and thats why she spits up.  We are still learning her cues of hungry vs. tired.  If I pay attention she doesn't spit up :)   She is SUPER noisy and grunts a lot before she has to poop.  This happens a lot between the hours of 3-6.  Pumping her legs seems to settle her a bit.  We hope this is something she grows out of and its not an allergy to milk.  As of now we are still nursing and I hope to till about 6 months!
At a check up when she was 3 weeks and 2 days old she already weighed 9 pounds 6oz!!!!! The doctor said her weight gain was incredible! ha so now worries on spitting up! She hasn't really woken up yet to start cooing or much but I have seen some small smiles already and can't wait for more!

Below are some picture from this month ;)

19 months

This month has gone by very quickly! With baby #2 coming any day now I felt that I should blog earlier than later :) life might get a bit crazy!

Mackenzie finished up her gymnastics class this month, has gone to MOPS with me weekly (and walked in by herself), played at the park (it is actually still nice this week-how crazy!!!!)

New phrases: sorry mama! Bye bye sun, moon, up, down, on, off... There's more but you get the idea! Her 2 word phrases are getting better each day and clearer.

At night she has been having ALL her teddies go to sleep on a blanket with her, she'll turn on the sound machine and say shh sleeping. Pretend play is so fun to see her do!

We made her bedtime 7 again and she does so much better! She sleeps till 7 now and that half hour makes such a difference in the morning. She has been a pickier eater lately but seems ok with what she's getting. She is taking an hour to hour and a half nap. Before bed she has been watching Noah's ark the veggie tales version and she looooooves it! Dinner at 5:15, veggie at 6, bed by 7... Wow!

This month started with trunk or treat!

This was a hayride in my parents neighborhood :)

Coloring is a daily activity (anywhere from 5-30 minutes!)

Gymnastics pictures from the last day!!

Dada was gone for a long weekend in Arizona for making forum at his work! We are so proud of him & thankful he works so hard. This was a gift he got and Mackenzie likes to have him wear them.

November 16 and 60 degrees! Wow! What a fun morning at the park :)

Then on November 21 we got 15 inches of snow haha! Her first snow storm of the season.

Mackenzie is 19 months today on November 24! We thought maybe baby 2 would make her enterance and they would have been exactly 19m apart... But no :)
Now we have two days till thanksgiving and we can't wait to see when this bAby girl comes! She sure is taking her time :)
